Upcoming Virtual Events 💻
Travel photography is one of the most powerful ways to preserve memories, share experiences, and connect with others. But how do we ensure we’re doing it respectfully and responsibly?
For our next learning event, join us as Candice Kalb, an incredible photographer and avid traveler, shares her tips for taking photos that elevate your storytelling while honoring the people, cultures, and environments you encounter.
Brooke Yool, TNN's former Seattle Chapter Leader, is hosting a free travel event that might interest you! Join her on Monday, July 7th at 6 PM Pacific / 9 PM Eastern for Smart Traveler's Guide to European Christmas Markets. No need to register, just click this Zoom link when it's time!
We've got more virtual events coming your way! Our goal is to provide a variety of ways for you to learn from and connect with our beloved community. We're looking forward to seeing you at one of these soon!
Is it just me, or are flights feeling a little spicier these days?
Turns out, it’s not just your inner ear acting up — climate change is actually making turbulence worse. Like, brace-yourself-and-hope-your-snack-doesn’t-go-flying worse.
So if you’re a nervous flyer, maybe don’tread this before your next trip… or do, and feel very smug when you call that turbulence from seat 27A.
The Washington Post put together a super cool (and slightly alarming) visual guide showing which routes are getting bumpier and why.
But I Can Explain, Officer 🚨
Ever had a hair-raising transportation moment during a trip?
As travelers, we have all had those “interesting” moments on the road, whether it is a hair-raising tuk-tuk ride, a charmingly (?) chaotic roundabout, or a taxi that treated red lights as mere suggestions.
But who drives the worst…? According to this global study, our beloved Thailand takes the trophy for worst in the world, while Japan takes the crown as the very best. Using real data on accident rates and road safety, the report offers a real-stats look at how people drive around the world and what that says about how we’re all moving through it. Be careful out there!
Where We Can't Go 🛑
You’ve probably caught some chatter about this by now…
There’s a lot of buzz swirling around possible new travel restrictions, and that goes for right now, but also in the future, depending on who’s running the show in the White House next. If you’re someone who loves exploring new places and connecting with different cultures, this definitely matters.
The New York Times put together a clear, eye-opening interactive map that breaks down exactly who might be affected, where, and what it could mean for the future of international travel.
It’s suprising, it’s unsettling, and it’s definitely worth staying informed about, especially if international connection is close to your heart (like it is for all of us!). See the map here.
2025 has already been such an incredible year, full of unforgettable adventures and so many shared memories with this amazing community! We’re beyond grateful for each and every one of you who has traveled with us, cheered us on, or simply dreamed alongside us.
And the best part? We’re just getting started. We can’t wait to share our 2026 schedule with you very soon. So many more journeys, discoveries, and off-the-beaten-path moments are coming your way. Stay tuned — it’s going to be so good. ❤️
With gratitude and excitement, Lisa + The TNN Team 🌍
“The Morocco tour exceeded my expectations in a lot of ways - from having the most fun and knowledgeable tour guide ever to meeting people from different parts of the world who were united in our desire to discover new places and things - add in the convenience that I had to make no plans on my own! It is an awesome way to travel.”~Brady
